I Love Sleep-Overs.2003-02-27 - 10:16 a.m. So we went to see Peter Wolf and John Hiatt last night. (Yes, I misspelled Pete's name in my previous entry. Don't tell him.) They were both so totally awesome! I was expecting to enjoy myself, but I had no idea how much. It really was just a great evening. I got home from work about 4:30, and MW showed up a few minutes later. (He went to the gym with my mom's husband yesterday; he's so buff.) We had dinner, changed clothes, and off we went. Traffic on the Kennedy sucked, but we found the place with no problems and got there in plenty of time. We sat in the back row and pretty much had the whole row to ourselves. Spike Manton was emceeing the show, and even that was quite enjoyable. He was a hoot. So round about 8 o'clock, Peter Wolf took the stage. I enjoyed him more than I thought I would. I mean, I knew I liked him and all, but he really did put on quite a show. Then there was a 15 minute intermission between Pete and John. That's when MW and I seized the moment. Okay - I'm overstating. MW seized the moment, and I went along for the ride, cuz I'm horrendously shy when faced with people I don't know terribly well or at all. He was on a mission to find Steve Dahl and Jenifer. Couldn't find Jenifer, then found Steve and asked him if he knew where she was. Was that rude? I mean we did talk to him for a bit, but he wasn't saying much. Then as we were walking away, I told MW that Steve hates us. Steve heard me and said that he didn't, but that he was just shy. Uh huh. Whatever. ;-) So we kept on a hunting and eventually found Ms. Jenifer. She was ever so nice. We talked to her for a few minutes, and then found our way back to our seats for to watch Mr. Hiatt. John Hiatt was a funny fucker. I'm guessing that his wife spends a lot of time laughing. He seemed really nice and down-to-earth. (Yes, I realize that sounds corny as hell, but he really did.) He had to start a couple songs over because he either fucked up the lyrics or just plain forgot them. He blamed the first mishap on the fact that he had taken some of that "new crack" before the show that the "kids all seem to love". So yeah - we had a great time. Ya wanna know the best part though? I mean the best part aside from seeing two really great performances, all while nestled next to MW. We left the city at midnight, got to my house around 12:40 or so, got ready for bed, climbed in, and slept. Together. For the entire 4 hours until the alarm went off. Well, technically, he slept, I tossed and turned, and then we had sex around 4:50 in the morning. Ya know what else? We were both making little happy noises the whole time. Like the little happy sighs, and whispering that we loved each other... I just love him. It was so nice not having to say goodbye at the end of the night. Hasta! Looking back... Just Pix - 2005-02-08
