A Spectacular Crash.2003-03-15 - 8:52 a.m. So I ventured a little closer to MW's neck of the woods Wednesday night. I went and met him at the On The Border in Naperville. It was actually a good time. We'd been dealing with some "issues" the past several days and needed to talk. It was rather refreshing to have a serious talk with someone who's not only rational, but objective. Everything's all back to groovy with us, thanks for asking. Thursday night was wonderful!!! I came home from work to find MW in the kitchen. He had a ham and sweet potatoes cooking in the oven. He made homemade guacamole. He handed me a glass of wine when I walked in the house, and he gave me an anniversary card. It was 7 months on Thursday! We had a lovely evening. (And great sex too. I know - you care.) We ended up falling asleep before the news came on. He woke up and went home around 1ish. My Friday morning started off with a bang - or rather a crash. I was on my way to work at 6:30 in the morning. I was at a stop light about 5 or 10 minutes from home. All of a sudden I heard tires squealing and thought to myself, "Gee, that's really close". I realized exactly how close when my SUV jolted forward after she slammed into me. Turns out she had the sun in her eyes and didn't even see me stopped in front of her till it was way too late. She was probably going about 30 mph or so. I was a tad shaken, but I grabbed my phone and called 911. The cop showed up, wrote up a report, issued her a ticket, and I was outta there. The woman that hit me didn't understand why she was getting a ticket when she "didn't mean" to hit me. Bless her heart; I caught her on a good morning. I'm fine, btw - I know you're all concerned. LOL I'm quite sore this morning though. My little neck and shoulders feel like they've been working out behind my back. So last night I didn't really do anything. I was sleepy, and MW was home with the boys. He's working this morning till noon, then coming over here for a bit, then I have a hair appointment at 3:30, then back here to visit with MW for a while longer than he's outta here around 6ish. I'm supposed to go out with Janina tonight, I think. If she blows me off though, I'm going to MW's neighborhood to meet him at a local establishment. Tomorrow we're starting our day going out for breakfast and then heading to the South Side Irish Parade in the city. Should be fun. Weather's been way nice. Plus I get to meet MW's bestest friend, Chuck and his girlfriend. I'll let ya know how it goes... Oh yeah, did I tell you that MW and I are going away for the weekend next weekend? Yep. We're off to Galena. I found a little B&B with a whirlpool tub and a fireplace. We can't wait! Hasta! Looking back... Just Pix - 2005-02-08
