Ramblings...2003-03-30 - 1:46 p.m. Hidee Ho. So Wednesday night I went to see Cam's counselor. No big surprises there - she's as confused as I am as to what the hell his problem is. Thursday night, MW stopped by to drop off Cam's desk. Cam started putting it together, but ran into a snag so I told him to ask MW for help Friday night when he was over. Between the two of them, they got the desk all done on Saturday. Friday night, MW and I went out to dinner. We went to Emilio's in Wheaton for tapas. They were delicious. We had marinated octopus, squid, stuffed mushroom caps, and some kind of rumaki thing with duck tenderloin. When we left the house, we told Cam we were going to dinner and then out for the evening. We had no intention of going anywhere but home after dinner, but wanted to see how trustworthy he was. As it turns out, not very. We left the restaurant, stopped at Starbucks for a yummy White Chocolate something or other for me and a regular coffee with a shot of espresso for him. So we showed up at home only to find Cam and 3 other children here. I give up. Who wants him? C'mon - anyone? So then Saturday, MW came over around 8:30 or so - can't really remember, but we went out for breakfast as soon as he got here. We got "our table" again at "our restaurant". LOL So after breakfast, we stopped at Menard's to get some weather stripping for my bedroom door which keeps insisting on jiggling with the windows open at night. Drives me nuts... Then we went car shopping. That was fun until we ran into some of MW's neighbors. I got a little freaked out because I didn't know what to do. I ended up going out to the car and sitting there alone and crying. Don't ask. Turns out that MW told the guy about me so I could have just stayed with him, but I was flustered. See - the guy is the finance guy where we went to look for cars. The wife was just there to drop him off or something... Guess the two of them are in the process of a bitter divorce right now too. Plus his wife apparantly has a huge mouth and talks to the soon-to-be ex frequently. MW thinks she'll know about me soon enough now. So after the car thing, we went grocery shopping then came home to dinner cooked by Cam. He made pasta with an odd little sauce that had sausage and chicken in it. Not bad though. After dinner I started packing our cooler for the drive-in, and MW did the dishes. He's such a helpful little guy. So I almost made it through Bringing Down the House, but fell asleep near the end. I also slept on and off through the first 45 minutes of Old School. MW woke me up and we left for home. Watched the last hour of SNL (while MW slept), then I woke him up and sent him home. Ya know the best part about the drive-in? It was getting there an hour before the movies started. We just sat and talked. We talked about the soon-to-be ex a little and how she wouldn't ever let him have female friends. We also talked about this guy friend of mine that I rarely have contact with anymore because his wife wouldn't understand that he has a female friend. Nevermind that I've known this person since I was 3 years old and we never dated or anything like that... Women suck. Men too sometimes. I remember shortly after Cam was born, I went out one night with some friends, one of which was a guy I had dated briefly in high school. Steve got all pissed, and decided I was not to see this person anymore - so I didn't. I was young and dumb, I guess. Now I'm kinda/sorta friends with Marc at work, whom I went out with a couple times last summer. MW had a problem with it at first, but now he's fine. MW chats with a woman now who he had a relationship with a while back. Used to drive me nuts, but I'm much better now. I think we both pretty much know that we love each other and we don't want anyone else. There's a lot to be said for feeling secure in a relationship. My but I can ramble... So that brings us to today. MW called around 12:30. He and the soon-to-be ex are out right now getting roller blades for the boys then he's coming over around 4ish. Guess that means I should get in the shower. Hasta! Looking back... Just Pix - 2005-02-08
