Best Weekend Ever.2003-04-14 - 7:10p.m. You know what sucks about only updating once a week? I have so much to share... I'm skipping the little stuff and heading straight to Thursday. Shall we? So it's Thursday morning, and I'm sitting at my desk about to head off to my 9:30 meeting when Bunn calls. He hurt himself at work. Poor little guy took a tumble off a ladder. At first the doctor thought he just (just?) fucked up all the tissue in the fat part of your hand just below your thumb, but then when he went back to the doctor's office Friday morning, they took another look at the x-ray and now they think he chipped a bone in there. He's now casted from mid-hand to mid-forearm. He's having a tough time being temporarily without an opposable thumb on his right hand. I feel for him. So anyhoo, he was going to be off work for a while so I decided I'd take off Friday and hang with him after his doctor's appointment. He got to my place a little after 1 or so. We went out for lunch and then he suggested we go looking at new cars for me. I bought one. He was awesome. I didn't have to do hardly any talking, yet I got to make all the decisions. It was like having an agent with me or something. Plus our salesman was unbearable. I hate car salesmen anyway, but this one was particularly annoying. I didn't mind that he was pretty much just talking to Kurt, I mean - it was my decision to have him do all the talking so that was to be expected, but when he would speak to me, he treated me like I was an idiot. So anyway, after a few hours of test driving and negotiating, I just wanted to go home and think it over. On the way home, the sales guy called and asked what it would take for me to buy a car that night. I told my agent to tell him that if the last car I test drove was 4 wheel drive and he could get my payments down to $550, I'd take it. So the sales guy tells Kurt that, "of course it's 4WD, all the ES models are". We were looking at the Mazda Tributes, btw... So after a little more dickering back and forth between the salesman, Rick (the dick) and my agent (my hot and husky honey bunny), it was decided that we'd pick up the car in the morning. So Bunn picked me up around 7:30 Saturday morning, and we went out for breakfast. Then we headed to Pugi Mazda in Downers Grove for to get my new car. It's so pretty. Calypso Blue, leather interior, premium sound system with a 6 cd changer, power moon roof, and the most important option of all... Butt warmers! So we sat down with Rick the Dick for another hour or so... Hate him. Then we went into financing with Amy, the finance chick. Very nice. Got done with that and the general manager comes over, congratulates me on my new car, says he's sorry that everything was such a hassle with Rick the Dick, and asks what Kurt and I are doing Sunday. We say nothing, and he then gives us an envelope containing 4 tickets to the Cubs game and a parking pass! Go us! So right away, Bunn says how his boys have wanted to go to a Cubs game at Wrigley for like forever. I give him a look like, "Hey, I got no problem with that, but I'm supposed to be a big secret, remember..." Long story short - they were sworn to secrecy and came with. They're very nice kids, and Bunn says he thinks they like me too. The day was great. I was pooped and went to bed early. Crap. I forgot all about Saturday evening. I'll back track. So after we get the car on Saturday, we cruised around, stopped at my mom's to show her and Mike, went to the pub and had a couple beers, and then it was time for Bunn to go home to see Brian's baseball game. He was coming back to my house around 6 to leave for the concert. Y'know, Elton and my little Billy. So we get to the concert, get our beverages, and then it started. I know y'all know I'm a big cry-baby, so this next part won't come as a shock, but I was blubbering just watching them. I'm like that. I was all trying to hide it from Bunn and shit too. LOL Then he leaned over and told me that he thought they were really great and that he even got a little teary. I felt better then. So yeah, the show was absolutely awesome. They just look like they're having so much fun together. They played for almost 4 hours too! So we got home a little after midnight, had some gimp sex (that would be with me doing all the work since I'm cast-less), slept for a little while, and he went home around 3. I got up Sunday morning and did some laundry and chores. Watched a little tv, then hit the shower. I was a little nervous about meeting the chilluns, but not so bad. They're very cute. Oh, and speaking of cute, I also got to finally see pictures of Bunn's soon-to-be ex-wife on Saturday. She's really not. Where was I? Oh yeah, Sunday night after the game, blah, blah, blah... I was putting stuff away around the house, and I grabbed the spare set of my new car keys to toss in the junk drawer in the kitchen, when I see on the plastic dealer keychain, "2WD". Thinking to myself, "Oh this can't be..." I grabbed the window sticker and looked. Sure as shit. Rick the Dick is an idiot and sold me a 2 wheel drive car. I immediately called my agent. He was on the phone with the general manager first thing this morning. They're having a new better car with all my stuff on it plus a couple additional things and 4WD, shipped from Michigan. I pick it up Wednesday. I'm sad to say that without Bunn, I never would have said a word, and I just would have kept the car I got stuck with. He was awesome throughout the whole process, and I never could've done as well as I did without him. So all in all, I had a fucking awesome weekend. Went out drinking with Bunn Thursday night, off work and bought a car on Friday, Billy Joel Saturday, and the Cubs and Kurt's kids on Sunday. Oh, and did I mention that the love of my life (and I don't say that lightly) drove from his house in Plainfield to my office in Deerfield today to take me to lunch? For those of you counting, it's at least a good 60 miles, if not more. God, I got so lucky last August 13th. Yep, that's right - yesterday was a full 8 months. Hasta! Looking back...
