Mother's Day Weekend.

2003-05-11 - 10:02 p.m.

Another awesome weekend... So Kurt and the kids came over for dinner and a movie Friday night. Things started out a little iffy because, I think, everyone was a little uncomfortable. Things got better once we started eating though. We all relaxed a little bit and started talking more. After dinner, I did the dishes, Cam took off to hang with his friends, and the rest of us sat down to watch "The In-Laws". Brian was bored out of his head. He so didn't like the movie. Kids - whaddya gonna do? Can't please everyone. So we watched the movie, and then they took off around 10ish. It was a nice evening.

Saturday Kurt was supposed to go to Brian's baseball game, but it got rained out. He and the boys hung around the house and repotted some cacti. The soon-to-be ex got home from her overnight stay at her "friend's" house around 2, and Kurt took off for our sleepover night. On his way here, he called to see if I wanted to take a drive to Farm and Fleet with him. (I know it doesn't sound fun to y'all, but I had kinda been bugging him to go there for a while.) It was a really nice day for a drive too. So he got here and we took off. We shopped for a while and then headed home. He wanted to stop at On The Border to have a couple margaritas and get some salsa to go since we were going to make guac and margaritas at my place that evening. I didn't want to go. I pouted. Shut up - I know I'm a bitch. Get over it. I eventually did. So we finally got home, made margaritas and guac, and watched t.v. Then the weather got ugly. There was a tornado warning, the sirens were going off in our little town and Cam (as far as I knew) was at the drive-in. Not a good place to be during a tornado. I mean, c'mon... Who else saw "Twister"? So I called him up only to find out that they never went to the drive-in, but were just down the street at the arcade. I made him come home. We all finished watching SNL and went to sleep.

Got up this morning and went to Krissy's for brunch cooked by the guys. Was a nice time. I was especially grateful for the fact that even though my sister has 2 cats, and Bunn's highly allergic, that he didn't once give me the "can we go yet?" look. He's a trooper. Oh, know what else? Saturday I meant to take Cam to the mall and give him some cash-bucks so he could get me a Mother's Day gift, but I totally forgot. Bunn saved the day. See, he tried calling me when he left his house Saturday, but I was in the shower so he called my cell phone. Cam was at a friend's house and had my cell phone since his has been acting up. Kurt talked to him for a while, and asked him if he got me a present. Kurt then went to Cam's friend's house and gave him money to get me a gift. Now I'm pissed though. Turns out Cam totally took advantage of Kurt's generosity. Kurt gave him $40, and told him to spend at least $30 on me and he could keep the rest. I ended up with a silver bookmark and a candle for my gift. Both were very nice, but probably totalled about $15 - $20 tops. I'm so disappointed in my kid, I can't even tell you. I can handle a lot out of people, but dishonesty and taking advantage of peoples' good nature really, really, pisses me off. I don't know what to do with him anymore...

Oh, I almost forgot - FoFY called Friday night just before Kurt and the boys got here. He wanted me to sign something agreeing to lower his child support. I told him he should just take his pay stub to the county and work with them to have his support payments recalculated to be 20% of what he's currently making. Did I mention he just recently got a job as an exterminator and joined the California National Guard? Yeah. Whatever... So I told him to go to the county, blah, blah, blah, and that they'd probably adjust his scheduled payments, but they'd probably add something in to account for his arrears. (At this point, he's about $10K behind) So he says something to the effect of, "Do you expect me to pay you everything I owe you from when I wasn't working?" to which I replied, "Do you expect me to say, 'Oh, don't worry about those thousands of dollars you owe me'?". Then he said (in his most condescending, patronizing, smarmy voice ever) "Awww, has this been a hardship for you?". That's when I hung up on him. He called back the next day and apologized. Whatever. Whether or not anything's been a hardship for me is not the point. I work. I make decent money. I don't NEED his child support. What pisses me off is that he doesn't work for months at a time, and doesn't actively even look for work. Believe me - he was unemployed more than he was employed during our marriage. I know how he operates. Plus whatever he does make goes to help support his girlfriend and her two children. Cam didn't even get a fucking Christmas present from him this year. Asshole.

So back to Bunn.

We came home from Krissy's early this afternoon and sat down to watch "Glengarry Glen Ross". It blew. I got bored. We both ended up napping. We ended up getting up a little after 4 and decided to go to the winery. We had fun. Perhaps I had a little too much. It wasn't until we were pulling into my driveway after the winery that I realized I left my purse there. I suck. Bunn didn't even laugh at me; just turned the car around and headed back. Then we got back to my house and watched Survivor. I can't believe that cunt, Jenna, won. Ick.

Oh well, I'm sleepy. Think I'll turn in now.

Happy Mother's Day, everyone!

Hasta!
