Breaking Up. I Laugh At That...

2003-05-26 - 1:38 p.m.

I know a few of you out there are only reading hoping to hear that the honeymoon's over. Sorry. Still in love - still having fun.

I know it's been a while since the last update, but lately whenever I go to update, Diaryland is having server issues, and updating is impossible.

Last weekend was fun. Kurt came over Friday night after a long workout at the gym. We got sushi and mexican food. I had a little sushi, but after fighting a 3-day migraine and being nauseous most of the time, I gotta say that the golden shrimp was not the best choice I could have made. The only good thing about the headache was the fact that I scared the shit outta Cam Thursday night. I came home from work, took my contacts out and basically laid motionless for a few hours. Then it subsided a tad so I thought I could watch some t.v. Bad move. It got worse. Quickly. Cam found me in my bathroom leaning over the sink crying and trying really hard not to puke. He wanted to call Krissy to have her come take me to the hospital. He doesn't get the whole "it's just a headache - they can't do anything for me" thing... Silly boy. So needless to say, I went to bed quite early that night. That was fun too - trying to sleep propped up in a sitting position because that's the only way my head wasn't throbbing out of control. So anyway, Kurt came over Friday night. We watched t.v. and went to bed.

Went out for breakfast Saturday morning, did a little K-Mart shopping, then he went home to see Brian's baseball game. I don't think we did anything Saturday night, but I can't remember now. I suck if I don't update regularly... Friday was Krissy's birthday. The big 34. We were supposed to have her birthday celebration Saturday, but then at the last minute they decided on Sunday. We went to my mom's around 1 for a cookout. Kurt came too. We played horseshoes, and softball, and frisbee. Had a damn good time till I woke up the next day and couldn't move very well. LOL Plus Krissy ended up hurting herself and going to the emergency room for x-rays. It's not a party till someone's at the hospital. Turns out that she's fine.

Work's been a little hectic the last couple/few weeks. On the upside - the days have been flying by. Kurt came and spent the night Wednesday. We had pizza and watched American Idol. Thank God that dick, Clay, didn't win. (Aren't you glad I didn't update right away, MKM? LOL)

I was going to go up to the pub Thursday night, but then ended up falling asleep around 9:30. Getting old is hell. I was off work Friday though. That was nice. I got up, did laundry, cleaned my bathroom, etc... Then Bunn showed up around noon. Sex ensued. Lots of it. I'm thinking no one has more fun in bed than us. I know most people probably think that, but it's just so nice to be so fucking comfortable with someone. He didn't get a lot of sleep the night before, so I let him nap a while after... I snuck out into the kitchen and started dinner. I had a Boston roast in the freezer, so I figured I might as well cook instead of going out or grabbing something on the way to the track. (We went to Hawthorne Friday night) I also realized I had some rotting bananas so I ended up making a banana cake with cream cheese frosting too. Yum. So after dinner, we got ready and headed for Hawthorne. Bunn's brother works there. They have only started talking again recently. Apparently, the wives never really got along. So long story short, we went to Hawthorne, I met his brother, his brother showed us all around the place (he's the head of all maintenance and new construction there), we ended up sitting in the VIP room drinking and talking for a long time, he brought us downstairs and showed us his office, we said goodbye, I went to shake his hand, and he hugged me and said I was beautiful. I'm liking the family so far. ;-)

We got up Saturday morning and did some shopping for the Memorial Day BBQ at mom's on Sunday, then went to Kurt's house. You heard me right. See, the soon-to-be ex is out of town for the weekend, so Bunn figured we could just go to his house, hang out with the kids, cook out, and watch a movie. Which is exactly what we did. He started giving me the tour when we got there. Started in his room. I made the mistake of looking in his closet. What a slob. Together we got the room looking pretty damn nice though. I even made him vacuum. LOL Bobby was hanging out in the room with us while we cleaned. He was online and kept showing us little baby videos from flowgo.com. He was cracking himself up. He's a really cute kid. They both are. It was so funny - we were downstairs making dinner, and they were talking about whether mom was out of town or just sleeping over at a friend's house for the weekend. I told them I really hoped she was out of town because if she happened to "show up" at home that night, it would not be pretty. Brian looks up and says with a big grin on his face, "Dad'd be screwed". So we grilled chicken, then the boys built a fire, and they roasted marshmallows and made s'mores for Kurt and me. Bobby's version of a s'more requires almost an entire chocolate bar. I was nice and "let" him make me one. After that we started watching Monty Python's The Holy Grail. I got sleepy. Kurt took me home around 10. He's such a sweetie. Rather than have me drive my own car the 45 minutes to his house following him, he drove me there knowing that he was going to have to turn around and bring me home that night. Love him. So much. Plus I had a few things on my mind over the last couple weeks and we had a really good talk Saturday while we were shopping and on the way to his house. It's so nice talking to someone who's so understanding and calm.

Sunday morning, I got up and started cooking cranberry sauce. See, we decided that we were going to deep-fry turkeys at mom's for Memorial Day. We brought the turkeys with us to Kurt's house Saturday night and he injected them with marinade and then put them on ice in a cooler overnight. He and the boys got to my mom's house before me Sunday afternoon, and they were working on untangling the volleyball net out back when I arrived. Turned out to be a hopeless task, and we all went to Target and bought a new one. The turkeys turned out really well except the first one got a little charred since the thermometer in the oil wasn't working properly. Meat was still good on the inside though... My friend, Janina showed up for a while too. That's a whole other entry though. She's still all broken up over the break-up with Randy that happened 3 1/2 months ago.

Speaking of other entries...

Got home last night around 9ish. Called Cam and asked him to come home. He went to my mom's with us, but then his cousin, Heather picked him up because they were having a birthday party for 2 other cousins at his grandma Ruth's house. Then from there he went to Brandon's house to wish him a happy birthday. Brandon is FoFY's girlfriend's 18 year-old son who lives near me. He sells pot for a living. Cam came home stoned. Still don't know what to do with him. Feels like he's drifting further and further away, but I have no idea how to rope him in. Any insight (from those of you who actually have children; not you, Cholak) would be welcome.

So today Kurt and the kids are having "Boys Day". Actually, I just got off the phone with him. The kids are outside having a squirt gun fight, and he's inside dusting his room. What a good boy. ;-) I'm hoping the soon-to-be ex shows up today and Bunn shows up at my house. Until then, I think I'll start some laundry. Ooh, I almost forgot - I finally hung the last set of blinds up in my kitchen this morning. I've only had them a year now... I also hung a set of 3 hanging baskets in front of the window. Now I have a place for my lemons, limes, garlic, and maybe onions. Haven't quite decided what all to put in them yet. I bought the baskets last week, but then realized I need a hook for the ceiling to hang them. Bunn bought me one yesterday. He also got me a big-ass t-shirt with a smiley face on it, and a folding chair to keep in my car. He got one for all of us - him, me, and the boys. We used them yesterday at my mom's. Very comfy.

Did I mention I have the best boyfriend ever? Seriously though... Cholak couldn't be further from the truth. Everything's great between Kurt and me, and especially after this weekend, I feel closer to him than ever. I feel like gushing on and on about him right now, but words just don't cut it, ya know?

Hasta!
