Mr. and Mrs. -- That's Us!!!2004-08-17 - 3:30 p.m. So we're married. We got to the DuPage County Courthouse at 11:35, and we were out by noon as husband and wife. The whole "ceremony" took about 2 minutes, and I actually surprised myself by getting a little weepy. Then I looked at Kurt, and his little eyes were a little full too, and then neither of us could quit giggling. We somehow managed to say all the right things though, so now it's official. We left the courthouse, and went to Best Buy to spend lots of money. We walked out with 3 new televisions. They're all flat panel Gateways. We got one for behind the bar in the basement, one for the kitchen, and one for the bathroom. Then we went to On The Border for beers and guac. We were talking to the bartender and telling her that we had just gotten married, and then pretty soon the manager came over to congratulate us and tell us that whatever we ordered was on the house, and that they were open till midnight. LOL This was around 3 in the afternoon... Anyhoo, we appreciated the offer, but we had told our neighbors that we'd be home by about 2, so off we went. When we got home, we found that they had decorated our house. There was a big party margarita balloon tied to the mailbox, and a "Just Married" banner across the front porch. Then we went in, and there were more balloons, and a cake, and a dozen white roses on the kitchen table. Then we headed upstairs. They had sprinkled rose petals from the bottom of the stairs all the way up to our bedroom. The bed was covered with rose petals and Hershey's Kisses, there was a camera (ha - I think not!), and love coupon books on the bed. Then on the dresser, there was a bottle of champagne on ice, and more flowers. I just want to go on record right now as saying that Kurt and I have the absolute best fucking neighbors ever. So after we were done taking everything in... We (neighbors included) headed for the pool, and we swam the afternoon away. We ended up ordering pizza at some point, and then more neighbors showed up. All in all - not a bad wedding night. And I'd love to tell you all that the wedding night sex was awesome, but we fell asleep. I will tell you though that the day after the wedding sex was astonishing. ;-) Hasta! Looking back... Just Pix - 2005-02-08
